About this game
Bullet Hell is a dodge-focused shooter built around surviving screens saturated with projectiles. The defining feature is the tiny hitbox: only the small pink dot at the centre of your ship can be hit, so shots that look like they connect frequently pass straight through.
Grazing is how you exploit that. Skimming past a bullet awards bonus points, which means deliberately flying close scores far better than dodging at a safe distance. Risk and reward are wired directly together.
Focus mode (Shift on desktop, two-finger tap on mobile) slows your movement and displays the hitbox for precise threading. Bombs (Z or the 💣 button) clear every bullet on screen. You start with 3 lives and 2 bombs, and the barrage intensifies the longer you survive.
Tips & strategy
- Only the small pink dot can be hit. Ignore the ship's outline and track the dot's path instead
- Because grazing scores, flying close to bullets beats retreating to safety over a long run
- Always enter focus mode before threading a dense cluster — the reduced speed makes pixel-level dodging possible
- Use bombs the moment you judge a pattern unsurvivable, not as you're dying. Dying with bombs in stock is the biggest waste
- Avoid the screen edges, where escape routes disappear. Holding near the centre keeps both sides open
FAQ
Q. Where is my hitbox?
A. Only the small pink dot at the centre of your ship. The sprite around it is not vulnerable, so far more is dodgeable than it looks.
Q. What is grazing?
A. Passing extremely close to a bullet without being hit. It awards bonus points, so taking measured risks pays off.
Q. How does focus mode work?
A. Hold Shift on desktop or use a two-finger tap on mobile. Your ship slows and the hitbox becomes visible for precise dodging.
Q. How many lives and bombs?
A. You start with 3 lives and 2 bombs. A bomb clears all bullets on screen, damages enemies, and grants brief invulnerability.
