About this game
Survivor is a top-down action game where you flee an ever-growing horde while your weapon clears it automatically. The only thing you control is movement — targeting is handled for you.
Killed enemies drop XP gems; collecting them levels you up and offers three upgrades to choose from. Damage, fire rate, projectile count, movement speed, HP, pickup range and pierce all combine into a build you assemble on the fly, which is the heart of the genre.
Enemies grow in number and toughness over time until any build eventually gets overwhelmed. The real question is simply how long you last. Phaser's WebGL renderer keeps hundreds of enemies and projectiles smooth.
Tips & strategy
- Never stand still. Keep moving so the horde trails behind you and your auto-fire mows it down in a line
- Early on, fire rate and projectile count scale best — they keep your clear speed ahead of the spawn rate
- Pickup range looks boring but is very strong: it speeds up XP collection and therefore your level curve
- Don't cut through the middle of a pack. Circling the outside keeps you from getting surrounded
- When your HP is low, take survivability over damage — a dead build scores nothing
