📖 How to Play
  • Tap the objects to investigate (grimoire, cauldron, sigil chest, star window, door, black cat)
  • Read the brewing recipe (a color order) in the grimoire
  • Add ingredients to the cauldron in that color order to obtain a sigil decoder (sigil = number)
  • Use the decoder to read the chest's three sigils as numbers, enter the 3 digits, and get a star chart
  • Trace the star window's stars in the chart's numbered order to break the seal
  • Once the seal breaks, open the door and escape

About this game

Escape the Witch's Manor is a ★3 escape puzzle — the hardest in the series — set in the home of an absent witch. Three puzzle stages chain together, and the clues for each are deliberately placed far from the lock they open.

The first gate is brewing. The grimoire on the west bookshelf records a recipe as an ordered list of ingredients, which you add to the cauldron on the south wall. You choose four from six ingredients (poison mushroom, herb, dragon eye, bat wing, poison spider, moonlight grass), giving far too many combinations to brute-force.

A successful brew yields a sigil decoder mapping sigils to digits, which you use to read the three sigils on the east chest as a number. The chest holds a star chart; trace the stars in the north window in the chart's numbered order to break the seal and escape. Because clues never sit next to their locks, you'll be moving around the whole manor.

Tips & strategy

  • Do a full lap first and fix the layout in your head: bookshelf, cauldron, chest and star window
  • The brew is about the order of ingredients — note the grimoire's recipe precisely before going to the cauldron
  • There are far too many combinations to guess, so reading the grimoire first is mandatory, not optional
  • Sigils can't be converted without the decoder, so the brewing stage has to come first
  • The manor contains decoys (numbers on the potion shelf, on the skull, and so on) — if a number doesn't come from the grimoire or the decoder, ignore it

FAQ

Q. How hard is it?

A. ★3 — the hardest in the escape series, with three puzzle stages that chain together.

Q. Can I brute-force the brew?

A. No. You pick four ordered ingredients from six, which is far too many combinations to stumble onto. You need the grimoire's recipe.

Q. Where are the clues?

A. Never right next to their locks. The grimoire is west, the cauldron south, the chest east and the star window north, so you'll move around the whole manor.

Q. Are there decoy objects?

A. Yes — numbers on things like the potion shelf and the skull are irrelevant. Judging which information actually matters is part of the puzzle.
